In 2015 I self published my first book The Real Food for Kids Cookbook. A 20cm by 20 cm hard cloth covered book with 40 recipes to cook with your kids. This is a beautiful and popular colourful little book that kids love, you can buy a copy here for $10.

As well as the recipes that I develop for this website I contributed new recipes in the monthly community newspapers: The Tasman Gazette, Sorell times and East Coast view for 4 years.
I have produced recipe calendars for 2014 and 2015 and also a lunch box ideas calendar as a fundraiser for the Dunalley primary P&F in 2015.
In 2013 I co-authored the Bream Creek Farmers Market Cookbook they are available to purchase from the BCFM on the first Sunday of every month or from my online store.
In 2015 I styled and photographed over 30 recipes for the Garlic Feast Cookbook by Janice Sutton, a beautiful big book with lots of recipes and information about the Tasman Peninsula and the Koonya Garlic Festival. I also helped Janice develop her idea to self publish the book, 12 of the recipes from my website here were chosen to go in the book including this BBQ crayfish. Garlic Feast recently won TWO awards at The Gourmand World cookbook awards Best Self Published and Cook Book of the year and went on to win best Self published book at The Best in the world Gourmand World Cookbook awards.
Although a huge amount of work and a large financial investment self publishing is not at all difficult if approached with the same principles you would apply to starting any business. If you have the right platform to sell your book it can be very profitable and fantastic long term advertising too!
Due to family commitments I do not cater for functions for now, but occasionally I cook special dinners at friends business’s, like this recent Seafood Everyday dinner at Bangor. I enjoy sharing my extensive cooking knowledge by giving cooking demonstrations at Festivals and Events most recently for The Tasmanian Seafood Industry Council at The Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart. I cooked three one hour sessions over the 4 days with excellent feedback, promoting the message Eat more seafood.
Photography and styling $120 hour
I offer affordable Product (food, beverage, boxes, packets, clothes, jewellery) photography in my studio in hobart for your website or online store. As a guide if you come along and assist (e.g. open packets, organise and arrange while I photograph) including post processing time, using one lighting set up, I can photograph approx 6-8 items in a hour to produce professional consistent images for your website, I can add in costs for assistant if you just want to drop the items off. For printed or advertising product photos for catalogues and posters I would allow more time please contact me for a quotation.
For your website or book, as a guide including post processing, I can photograph and style approximately 2-4 dishes a hour that you have prepared for me or I can cook, style and photograph one dish a hour from your recipes. Please contact me for a quotation to manage the production your cookbook.
