What an amazing weekend getaway! We arrived Friday afternoon to our beautiful unit. Great king size bed and the luxury of a spa! What a joy to find a bottle of Tasmanian sparkling ros’e waiting for us along with homemade salmon rilletes, pat’e and apple paste, with crackers and cheese. A beautiful fish pie in our fridge to reheat at our leisure for supper. Breakfast provisions were also provided with gorgeous homemade bread and jams. We spent a day exploring the area, so much to see and do. A light lunch at the Lavender Farm at Port Arthur sufficed as we knew we had a 7 course degustation with matched wines coming our way for dinner. The care and thoughtfulness that went in to this meal was shown on the plate…every one a stand out! Served with the best Tasmanian wines and produce… what a credit to our state and to Eloise for showcasing the amazing things we have to offer. Breakfast was again catered with homemade croissants, fresh scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, homemade jams, juices, tea and coffee and so much more. For a foodie, or anyone just wanting a wonderful experience, this is the place to go. We can’t wait to return. We returned home relaxed and satisfied that we’d had one of the best weekends away Tasmania has to offer.
Wow!!! What incredible value for money and such a wonderful weekend. Eloise has started offering these indulgence packages and she does them so well. The chalets are warm and comfortable. Big bed, spa bath and big bathroom with a nice hot shower. We had a platter of goodies left in our rooms, a bottle of Tassie bubbles and a homemade fish pie. Then on Saturday we went to the restaurant, where the maximum Eloise caters for are four couples, ensuring you get plenty of attention! We had a glass of bubbles with the most amazing steamed oysters, followed by a range of Tassie foods and beautifully paired wines. The wines were so good I had to track them down on our way back home so I could buy more!
After the most delicious quince and apple crumble, we had to go for a bit of a walk…we were both so full!
The next morning we slept in the toddled back into the restaurant for scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and home made breads and jams.
The little extras were the home made jams and relish, the fact that we got top ups of wine and bread, and the copy of Eloise’s cook book was a really lovely gesture.
Can’t wait to come back with friends!!
I would like to tell you how much we enjoyed everything about our indulgent weekend last week.
The chalet was amazing!! We had everything we needed and more! Comfortable, clean, views and privacy.
The canapés on arrival were generous and together with the Bream Creek Sparkling were a great start to our relaxing weekend.
On the Saturday we explored the area, found great coffee at CUBE on the hill, discovered new sceneries and purchased a few local food items. Win win!
The 7 course degustation on the Saturday night was wonderful. Beautifully prepared seafoods, venison and fruits …together with matching wines, we were very happy people indeed!
Hint – don’t have a big lunch!
A huge cooked breakfast on the Sunday, which included your homemade croissants, filled us to the brim.
Eloise, you certainly went to great lengths to make this a wonderful indulgent experience.
Thank you for everything.
We have four self-contained spa chalets. The four are all slightly different, 3 have sunken floors into the living area and one has a flat floor (please request unit 3 in your booking if you require a flat floor, subject to availability). The chalets are all self-contained with full kitchens and laundry. We are located just over an hour from Hobart and we recommend you base yourself here for your southern Tasmanian stay. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a country stay in a modern unit, and then take the option if you choose to make a day trip back to Hobart or Richmond and the Coal Valley Region, or even the 1-and-a-half-hour drive to visit the Huon Valley. Ensuring you leave time to explore the gorgeous Tasman Peninsula (everyone always wishes they had stayed for 2 or more nights when they arrive!!). The Tasman Peninsula boasts many amazing tourist attractions- the Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasman Island cruises, Port Arthur Lavender farm, Bangor Vineyard, the Coal Mines Historic Site and gorgeous sites of Eaglehawk Neck including the Blowhole, Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen and the Tessellated Pavement.
